I recently stayed at Atma Hostel in Huanchaco for 4 nights and it was perfect for backpackers and surfers. The kitchen was well organized and the yoga classes were amazing. The outside area was great for relaxing and meeting new people. The pets, including 3 cute bunnies and a friendly cat, added a unique touch. The staff were caring and gave great recommendations for nearby attractions. The beach was just a 1-2 minute walk away. I loved my stay and was sad to leave my new friends and the sweet pets!
Recommend this hotel.

The owner and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The hostel itself was well-organized and spotlessly clean. The kitchen had all the equipment I needed, and the free water, coffee, and tea in the morning was a nice touch. The yoga lessons were super nice and a great way to relax. The atmosphere was very chill and calm, perfect for unwinding. In all my travels, this is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in, not just in Peru but worldwide!

My stay at Atma Hostel & Yoga was absolutely amazing. The hostel had a beautifully equipped kitchen, with everything labeled and clean. I loved attending the yoga classes offered in their lovely studio, and the price for guests was very reasonable. The hostel had multiple common areas for relaxation, including a courtyard with hammocks and a terrace. The free filtered water was a great addition, and the complimentary coffee/tea in the morning was a nice touch. The hostel even had storage areas for surfboards and wetsuits. I had a fantastic time and would highly recommend this hostel.

the location was perfect, close to markets and just a minute away from the water. the atmosphere was super chill and the people were amazing. the kitchen was great and I could have happily stayed there for months. I originally booked for 2 nights but ended up staying for 3 weeks because I enjoyed it so much. the free coffee until 10 daily was a delightful treat. the volunteers were top notch and made the experience even better. Plus, the peanut butter from Paul is a must try if you're lucky enough to get a jar. There were also some cool surprise animals there too. a fantastic place to stay. Cons: Hard to think of anything 🤔.

Loved the location, with buses running regularly and just a few steps away from the beach.
Some rooms lacked additional security features like independent safes.

The hostel had a really nice and relaxed atmosphere. the staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. They also had a well-equipped kitchen, which was great for cooking our own meals. the location was ideal, being in a quieter area and close to some great vegetarian restaurants. We also enjoyed the option to do yoga classes at a reasonable price.
The hostel could have had more bathrooms available, as there were often queues during peak times. there were no full-length mirrors in the rooms, which was a bit inconvenient.
